XPS roof insulation
In this article, MINH QUAN will answer customers clearly why XPS is often used for roof insulation.
So what is XPS? Why do people use XPS a lot in insulating corrugated iron and flat roofs?
XPS is also known as Extruded Polystyrene Insulation, manufactured using an extrusion process. The continuous process creates a closed cell structure with a smooth skin on the top and bottom of the board. The closed cell structure prevents water from penetrating the structure of the insulation panels and provides long-lasting strength and durability.

WHERE CAN XPS BE USED?
XPS insulation can be used in interior walls, foundation walls, flat roofs, pitched roofs, decks and carports, cavity walls and partitions. MINH QUAN manufactures and supplies a range of XPS insulation solutions for all of these applications, known as ECO XPS. See the table below for an overview of where ECO XPS products can be used.
WHY IS XPS INSULATION USED ON REVERSE ROOF?
  • XPS insulation is the most common type of insulation used on inverted roofs. Here are some key reasons why:
  • Outstanding compressive strength and hence commonly used under floor slabs, concrete floors, foundations and underground structures etc.
  • Excellent moisture resistance and especially suitable for inverted roofs due to the closed cell structure
  • Low thermal conductivity ensures high thermal insulation performance
  • Lightweight, easy to cut and install
  • 100% recyclable
