Common types of walls that need insulation
The first question you should ask yourself before thinking about how to insulate your walls is "what kind of walls do I have?"
Solid wall - built until the 1930s in most parts of the UK. Meaning there is no cavity inside them, in Vietnam they often use tiles, or concrete bricks.
The wall has an internal cavity - the wall cavity consists of an outer leaf and a space in the middle. Depending on whether the structure is made of metal or plastic holding the two walls together, most cavities measure at least 2 inches.
