Classification of insulation materials part 2
Classification of insulation materials, part 2, includes internal structure (hollow structure), starting material, thermal conductivity and hardness.
Following part 1: classifying insulation materials according to external appearance, we will come to part two, classifying insulation materials according to internal structure (hollow structure), according to original materials, according to thermal conductivity and hardness.

According to the internal structure, insulation materials are classified into 3 types: fiber, granular and honeycomb.
  • Honeycomb concrete is produced from insulated honeycomb concrete. The mineral wool material group is a product made from mineral wool, which accounts for the majority of manufactured and most widely used insulation materials.
  • In fact, there are several types of insulation made from both inorganic and organic materials. Examples include Fibrolit, which is produced from wood fibers and cement, or mineral fiber sheets in sheets, which are a combination of synthetic resin and organic binders. These insulation materials have no group division.
  • The only basis for distinguishing different types is the type of starting material, which is decisive in the properties of the material. Accordingly, fibrolite belongs to the group of organic materials and conversely, mineral wool has a synthetic resin binder, so it belongs to inorganic materials.
